Curriculum

Prairie State School is a multi-age classroom, which caters to students from Prep to Year 6.  English, Mathematics, Science, Humanities and HPE follow the Australian Curriculum.  Whereas Technology and The Arts follow the Queensland Curriculum.

At Prairie State School we are dedicated to quality teaching and learning and following the process of turning our students into assessment literate learners. Our students have a clear knowledge of what they need to know and be able to do to be successful in their learning.

Students are encouraged to work to the best of their ability across year levels with staff extending and supporting their learning where needed. In a multi-age setting students have the advantage of collaborating with students from all year levels, making learning differentiated more accessible.

Prairie State School works with other small schools in the area to provide students with high quality learning opportunities, particularly in the areas of sport and the arts.

In 2016, Languages Other Than English (LOTE) lesson will be delivered online to some of our Years 5 and 6 students. At Prairie State School students are learning the German language.
